In addition to the NCAP lectures and workshops, Diné College now offers a variety of Navajo cultural arts academic programming for community members based upon their academic goals, their time allowances, and their overall aspirations with the cultural arts: Navajo Cultural Arts Dual Credit, Navajo Cultural Arts Certificate and BFA with Navajo Silversmithing Emphasis or Navajo Weaving Emphasis.
Navajo Cultural Arts Certificate (NCAC)
Navajo Cultural Arts BFA (NCA BFA)
This is a 24 credit hour certificate program housed with the School of Diné Studies and Education at Diné College. For the 2019-2020 cohort, students have the option of emphasizing in silversmithing, weaving, basketry, pottery and moccasin making. All community members are welcome to apply for this unique certificate. Application for the 2019/20 cohort is open
This is a 122-125 credit hour BFA program housed with the School of Arts, Humanities, and English at Diné College. BFA Students have the option of 2 different emphasis areas including: Navajo Silversmithing or Navajo Weaving. All community members are welcome to apply for this one of a kind BFA Program.  Application for the 2019/20 academic year is open
High School Dual Credit
Apprenticeship Program
Navajo Cultural Arts Certificate classes are now available to both Arizona and New Mexico high school students as part of the Dual Credit course offerings. Through this partnership between Diné College and participating high schools, it is possible for individuals to complete the 24 credit hour Navajo Cultural Arts Certificate program by the time they graduate high school.
The Navajo Cultural Arts Program provides the opportunity for intergenerational exchange of knowledges and techniques through this unique master artisan/emerging artisan collaborative program. In addition to creating individualized pieces, the mentors and apprentices will collaborate to produce unique pieces together.
